Travelling and researching for a place to go to are the things that I love. If the thought of a new destination comes into my mind, I will definitely go out of my way just to purchase a guidebook. I would rather surf the Web in looking for a good hotel place than ask travellers who have no interest in selling books.
I am able to discover different blogs, chat boards and forums as I click from one link to another with a tea cup and a few hours to spare. I searched a Moroccan ecotourism group on the internet for a package that includes country walks and visits to Berber family for my tip this coming fall in Madrid and Marrakech. I used the guidebook listings first which lead me to a family owned raid, a traditional Moroccan house in Marrakech, and a B&B near Madrid’s Plaza Mayor. Directly booking on their websites required me to first read the reviews posted on a travel website. The once useful websites after some time will lose its usefulness, but I have made a list of sites which I really like. In this site, millions of reviews by travelers about hotels and other types of accommodations in 190 countries are found here. To prove the validity of guidebook recommendations, this is a good place.

Families used to count on going on vacation once a year, but many are finding it too costly to travel on holiday these days. Even if you can’t afford a get-away this year, there are still many exciting activities you can indulge in for fun. Vacations might not be an option this year, so try a staycation. Here are some ideas to whet your appetite.
Give one room of your house a whole new look by updating it during your staycation. Get daring with color, polishing fixtures and reconfiguring the furniture layout. Turn your bedroom into an oasis and add romantic touches, like red velvet pillows and fresh flowers in a gem-studded vase. You’ll be amazed at the difference a few accessories can make in your room.
Make it a day of culture by visiting museums, libraries, and local art galleries. Tour historic sites in your area and read up on what your city or state is famous for. If you’re in New Jersey, look into why it’s called the “Garden State.” For Missouri, check out why your state is called the “Show me State.” There’s always a story worth hearing, so make a day of it and get an education in the process.
Schedule a day of you-time by going to a day spa, perhaps even getting a manicure and pedicure. Make time for a massage, and get your hair done in a different, dramatic style. You might consider changing the color of your hair or adding highlights. If you’re open to the idea, you may want to try out a henna tattoo.
