Air Canada started out as Trans-Canada Airlines in September’37. The inaugural flight was a 50 minute flight on a Lockheed L-10A from Vancouver to Seattle, transporting mail and a total of two passengers. The airline grew rapidly and by the year’64, Trans-Canada Airlines had become the national airline for Canada. It was then that the name was changed to Air Canada. The airline was privatized in’89. Air Canada also bought Canadian Airlines International around that time.

Today, Air Canada is more than 70 years old, and is largest passenger-service airline in Canada. Every year, it carries nearly 32 million passengers to 170 places across the globe. Air Canada also ranks–th among the airlines, across the world.

The airline runs on the belief that the journey should be a convenient one for its passengers. This is why Air Canada offers flight passes. The flight passes lets the customers to handle their trip online. The flight passes can be either received through the flight credits purchased in advance, or a by a monthly subscription, which offer you unlimited flights in some fixed sectors.

Air Canada has been ranked as one of the world’s best airlines, and this is based on the feedback provided by the passengers of Air Canada. According to a survey that was conducted, from August 2006 and June 2007, the airlines received the ‘Best Airline in North America’ title. It also received the ‘Airline Industry Achievement Award’, in the year 2007 for achieving the position of a market leader. The airline already won several titles like ‘Best Airline in Canada and North America’, judged by the readers of different travel magazines.

Besides working hard to keep their customers content and pleased, Air Canada also works hard enough to play their part in keeping the environment and nature preserved. They have initiated this process already by expending billions; and investing money in new aircrafts, which would save more energy. Air Canada has successfully reduced the emission level of their flights, by 28%. By the year 2020, the airline also has the ambition of bettering the efficiency of their fuel by 25%.

Air Canada also launched green programs in-house and recycling programs on board. They teamed up with an interesting program called ‘zerofootprint’. This program allows passengers to voluntarily offset the carbon emissions from the flight they have taken by participating in the reforestation program in Canada.

Even though Air Canada is undoubtedly one of the largest airlines in the world, it still requires the assistance of other airlines, to provide its customers with a well-connected and broad network of worldwide destinations.

Whenever Paul Tocknell is flying a plane, he gets the most kick out of people who make conversations with him. It flatters his heart when his passengers take the time to chat with him. Almost always, he gets asked about his dream to become a pilot. That dream was born when he was still young. Paul was introduced to airplanes and flying when his father took flight lessons. He started sketching them and building them up. Then, he started browsing through his father’s manuals.

Paul decided to follow the footsteps of his father and told his parents that he wanted to take the same lessons, too. However, money was a big issue, then. Nevertheless, he continued studying, even though he did not have a clear idea as to what he wanted to be in the future. That took a toll on him during his first year in college. It was very evident that an aviation course was the only way for Paul, but that was not in the school he enrolled in.

However, his parents thought that it would be too expensive. When he was in college, Paul was, like most freshmen, undecided as to what course he wanted to take. Of course, he was interested in aviation only, but it wasn’t offered in his school. He, however, did not want to be too problematic about his future.

During his spring break in his freshman year, he embarked on a trip to Ecuador. Together with a bunch of high school students, they traveled to the Amazon rainforest.

Therefore, he pressed on towards his dream, and pursued flight lessons. He was even more encouraged when he found that there are a lot of career options to choose from when you become a pilot. Things only got better when his grandparents hopped into his wagon. In a school in Florida, he successfully got his private, instrumental, and multi- engine commercial certificates. Paul went back home, and decided to become a flight instructor. He got his certificate in that, too. Now that he got his dream fulfilled, he went on to college and got a Communications degree.

Paul had to put a temporary stop his up- and- coming career as a pilot when he met and married his future wife in college. However, that does not mean he will revisit that dream again. His dream is far from over yet. There are a lot of opportunities that will still come his way. Right now, he encourages young, hopeful pilots to just work hard on getting their dream.

It’s time for you to Learn to Fly! Don’t know where to start? I recommend The Private Pilot Blueprint as a great free resource.

Many of us fear to fly on aircrafts and the foremost common reason is flight turbulence. Let us understand the fundamental types of turbulence and their causes.

Several of us worry to fly on aircrafts and the foremost common reason is flight turbulence. Let us understand the essential sorts of turbulence and their causes.

Varieties of Turbulence:

Slight turbulence: You’re feeling light tightening of your seat belt. This happens largely because of slight amendment in altitude/angle of airplane.

Moderate turbulence: Loose objects could roll here and there. Aircraft and occupants can feel the bumps with pressure against the seat belts.

Severe turbulence: The rapid change in air speed with altitude/perspective leads to this sort of turbulence. Loose objects are tossed and occupants are not in a position to eat and drink properly, walking becomes not possible and you can feel arduous bumps against seat belts.

Wake turbulence: It happens due to things moving in air.

Connectivity turbulence: When there’s simultaneous air rise and fall with heat and cool temperature, it results in connectivity turbulence. It normally occurs at low level and at down slope.

Causes:

Thermal: In high or warm temperatures with slight winds, huge balloons of air reach higher than a bound level and settle within the atmosphere where their temperature is just like the air. They’re invisible to our eyes resulting in slight turbulence.

Transition zones: When aircraft crosses from land surface to water or vice versa due distinction between the thermal characteristics of 2 surfaces, airplane can experience turbulence.

Mountains: Winds when blow against large obstructions like mountains or skyscrapers cause irregular air movement and this will end in dangerous turbulence if conditions are unfavorable. The up and down motion of air will give a faux measurement concerning the air pressure resulting in severe tragedies depending upon the height of mountain.

Thunderstorms: They will cause dangerous atmospheric activities with dynamic nature and can suck in the surrounding air into the system or burst large winds or clouds downward.

Unless turbulence is of terribly high severity, the aircraft will withstand all kinds of turbulences without any damage.

A prime example of the traditional ski resort city is St. Moritz. Skiers come to absorb the glamour and culture of the city, which is as vital as the skiing. The flights from the UK and Ireland range in price from 200-300, with Swiss International Airlines offering some of the better fares. While it is encouraged to shop for prices, Lufthansa rates are typically higher but offer flights deparing from London, Heathrow, Manchester, Gatwick, Birmingham and Glascow.

The closest international airport to St. Mortiz, which is at zurich is around 150 miles away. We can go to the resort by train or by plane which ever is affordable. The place is very beautiful.

St. Moritz is amongst worlds the most famous winter resorts and also one of the oldest. St. Moritz has to be visited during the ski-season of November to April. With its fantastic year-round sunshine you will have a most pleasant holiday, especially if you go at Christmas for the best possible snow. Why not check out St. Moritz reputation as a spa town, it has been famous for it since the Middle Ages.

There are 80 kilometers of piste length, or 88 slopes, at St. Moritz for skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels. Roughly 40 percent of these slopes are utilized for advanced level skiers with the remainder geared toward beginner and intermediate ski levels. St. Moritz is also adjacent to two additional ski areas, granting the resort access to an additional 270 kilometers outside of their area, and feature 56 lifts connecting them all. They also feature a snowboard park, and Crest Run, a sled racing run over 1,200 meters long and cross-country ski paths with the extensive ski slopes.

St. Moritz offers the board skier many different options . You have mountian climbing, bob sleding or paragliding. At night you can also have a romantic horse-drawn sleigh ride to end your night.

Venture indoors to select from casinos, high end restaurants, nightclubs, bars, and concert spaces. The chic boutiques offer shopping adventures, or explore the art and folklore museums for a taste of culture. A train ride on the high end Glacier Express or Berninina Express allows you to sit back and enjoy the scenery.

Tourism in Ko Chang has increased dramatically just in the last few years.Ko Chang, part of the Trat Province, is about 330 km from Bangkok and is Thailand’s second largest island and the largest in Ko Chang National Park.

Bangkok Airways flies twice a day from Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) to Trat. You can get to Bangkok inexpensively thanks to healthy competition for this route. All flights to Bangkok from the UK are out of London Heathrow. British Airways and Quantas offer flights to Bangkok, as well as Singapore and Hong Kong, as one of its stopping points on the “kangaroo route” to Australia. Also try Thai Airways and Taiwanese carrier, Eva Airways.

Direct door-to-door mimibus transfers will get you from Trat to Ko Chang and fares include the ferry crossing. Ko Chang has three seasons including the cool season from November to February, the hot season from March to May and the rainy season from June to October. In general the climate is hot and humid with lots of rainfall, 4,000 mm per year.

Transportation in Ko Chang is simple, with the songthaew, tais, and other hired vehicles being available. The atmosphere is friendly and mellow, and many tourists wander beaches.

Ko Chang’s recent growth as a tourist destination is due in large part to its proximity to Bangkok, just 5 hours away. It has become a favorite for Bangkok families on holiday. The island is home to a variety of wildlife including birds, snakes, deer and elephants and offers ideal spots for snorkeling, diving and jungle hiking.

The best known of the 47 islands of the Mu Ko Chang National Park is Ko Chang. If you’re an adventurer, you can take part in an 8 hour tour of the Than Mayom Waterfall and the Khlong-Plu Waterfall. If that isn’t enough, you can plan an overnight camping excursion in the jungle. If you’re looking for luxury, you can enjoy Thai villas at the Aiyapura Resort and Spa. You will be sure to enjoy the surrounding tropical gardens and breathtaking ocean views.

The best beaches are located on the west coast of the island offering the finest accommodations and night life. Had Sai Khao, or White Sands Beach is the most popular on Ko Chang. Beach bars, jazz clubs and night clubs offer the evening’s entertainment. You can stay in thatched huts or wooden bungalows for a natural experience or in one of the many luxury suites with air conditioning, television and pools.

Kai Bae Beach is similar to Klong Prao. You can hire canoes and kayaks, and there are plenty of dive shops. Bang Bao Beach is a fishing village built on stilts. Hire a boat and fish or snorkel to view the rich coral life.Klong Prao Beach has a steeper, sandy beach with a beautiful rocky landscape in its northernmost area.

Starting at Khlong Prao’s southern end, you can travel into the interior two ways: on foot with the help of a local guide or on an elephant safari. Half-hour and hour-long elephant rides are offered by Chang Chutman.

Vacations and holidays should be exciting, memorable, travel experiences. So why not take your next vacation or holiday aboard Royal Caribbean Cruise Line’s Oasis Of The Seas, the world’s most modern and largest resort hotel cruise ship, and cruise to the turquoise warm waters and beautiful white sandy beaches of the alluring, sun-drenched, Caribbean Islands?

This majestic, gigantic cruise ship has been brilliantly laid out to increase the passengers’ enjoyment and cruising experience. It has sixteen decks and 2,700 staterooms which vary in size from inside staterooms of about 150 square feet to the gigantic Royal Loft Suites that are over 1,500 square feet with big balconies of about 800 square feet. Royal Caribbean Cruises leads all the other cruise lines in the creation of this state-of-the-art cruise ship that can accommodate over 5,000 passengers.

The Oasis Of The Seas is a virtual miniature city with several “neighborhoods” running along the center of her outside deck with cleverly situated balconied staterooms or cabins overlooking the bustling activities of the passengers below.

The neighborhoods, or themed areas are, Boardwalk, Central Park, the Entertainment Place, the Pool and Sports Zone, Vitality at Sea Spa and Fitness Center, Royal Promenade, and the Youth Zone.

Here is a brief description of what you’ll find in each of the seven neighborhoods.

To start with, the Royal Promenade, is where cruise passengers board the ship. It is a virtual mall-at-sea and has a variety of retail shops, cafes, and bars.

Walk through the Boardwalk that features an authentic carousel and experience the atmosphere of Coney Island. Located at the stern of the ship at the end of the Boardwalk of this magnificent cruise ship you will find a large swimming pool where throughout the day passengers can swim, sunbathe, or even take scuba diving lessons. At night the pool is magically transformed into the AquaTheater which features an incredible water show where numerous nozzles spout pressurized jets of water high above the pool. These towering spouts of water are synchronized with a music and light display.

To top it all off, an innovative high-wire Zip Line stretches across the Boardwalk. Passengers that book strategically located state rooms or who are strolling in this area can watch their thrill-seeking, daredevil fellow passengers soar along this exciting high wire.

Central Park is full of lush greenery from shrubs and trees to flowers. The maintenance of this unique park is looked after by gardeners who rotate the flowers and plants to reflect the appropriate season. In this large neighborhood zone you will find a number of casual and upscale themed restaurants and bars to relax and dine on delicious meals and appetizers as well as enjoy alcoholic beverages.

The Entertainment Place features the thousand-plus seat Opal Theater, a large dance disco ballroom, a nightclub, a jazz lounge, a comedy club, and of course the world’s largest cruise ship casino.

The deluxe Vitality Spa and Fitness Center is the biggest spa on the high seas. It will appeal to all guests who want to unwind, relax, and be pampered in luxurious comfort.

The Pool And Sports Zone, which is located above the Boardwalk, features two surf making FlowRiders, a pool dedicated to a variety of water sports, a full-sized basketball court, a mini golf course, two colossal rock climbing walls, and the exciting Zip Line.

And last but not least there is the Youth Zone where trained personnel cater to parents’ babies and toddlers so their moms and dads can have some time to themselves aboard the ship. For the older kids and teens there are a multitude of fun things to keep them occupied.

If you’ve never been on a luxury cruise ship before, maybe now is the time. The Oasis Of The Seas has something that appeals to everyone. You will be very, very impressed.

Planning a trip to London? Find great deals on hotels and flights, as well as advice on the best sights in the city, all with the click of a mouse.

Planning a trip to London? Find great deals on hotels and flights, as well as advice on the best sights in the city, all with the click of a mouse. Best of all, by taking advantage of online deals, you will have more money to do the things you love on your trip!

In the days before the popular rise of the internet, planning trips to foreign locations was nearly impossible without the services of an expensive travel agent. Now, with so many online resources, it is easy to compare rates of different companies to find the one offering the best deal on your ideal vacation. It is even easy to have your chosen activities included in the price of your vacation at a discounted rate.

But today, you can take charge of your itinerary by investing a small amount of timedoing internet research. You know better than a travel agent what kinds of meals you desire, what level of comfort you expect from a hotel, and what activities will make the trip meaningful to you and your family. There are a variety of trip-planning sites online. Some online travel sites offer packaged vacations which allow you to pay one price tocover all fees, hotels, rental cars, and even event tickets. Often these all-inclusive packages are offered at a discount when compared to individual costs.

You can even include the kids. Have them to search online for places they would like to visit on your trip. Don’t be surprised if they find the best price on flights. It is amazing how easily kids find their way around online and they may actually help by finding hundreds of ways to save money and even finding some of the most fun things to do or see.

London has a multitude of attractive museums, restaurants, and art culture areas, but it offers many more local fun things to do that you might not be aware of while searching the area online. It is much easier to find these hidden treasures through the internet, which allows you all the knowledge of a local. Many websites also offer cheaper, more local flights, allowing you to city-hop for cheaper than the price of a bus.

Make sure you pack lightly when you travel anywhere in Europe. The various bus systems will only have space for a small bag. If you are planning on getting around by taxi everything your whole party brought will have to fit in the trunk or you will have to hire a second taxi. Even if you are travelling in a group driving in a bus too much luggage can make it difficult.

Airlines are constantly in price competition, and the benefits of their competition has been passed on to consumers. Many families and couples are already taking advantage of the great deals to be found online. With London’s romantic city-scape and beautiful countryside, anyone would want to spend time exploring, and thanks to the great rates to be found online, anyone now can. The money you will save by shopping online will help make your trip even more special as you try out that famous restaurant or treat yourself to a tour of a fine winery during your stay.

Flying to different locations all the way through Europe has been trendy with UK travelers for so extensive because of the propinquity Great Britain has to its neighbors. In today’s circumstance when people are worried about the staggering economy and credit crunch, it’s obvious that holidays in Europe come across are the cheaper option than going far. The diverse locations serve as beach vacations, as cultural holidays or romantic breaks of time. You are free to explore Europe to your heart’s content.

Traveling to Europe is simple and fairly cost effecting from the UK. There are lot of options to choose from depending on where you are in the UK. Firstly you will want to decide on your destination , because the prices are affordable and there are many options, some people take this opportunity to discover a new location. If you are booking online this is even easier, because you can enter the day you want to travel and the amount of people traveling, followed by the airport you want to leave from and then see which destinations are available.

Alternatively if you favor to go to a selected European place, then also this is very easy. There are many cheap airlines like BMI Baby, and Easyjet, which particularly fly to European short trips, and are thus affordable for everyone. Some of the better-quality airlines such as British Airways, offer flights to Europe, but they are costly. Contrasting to long distance flights, opting for a extravagant airline may be pointless; the trip is so small that opulence and comfort isn’t required.

Some of the famous destinations of Europe are Italy, Spain, France, and Germany. These countries include a wide collection of airports; and you will be find one neighboring the city that you want to visit. France includes Paris, as well as the northern and southern districts. Spain includes main cities such as Madrid, however there are Holiday Islands, which are packed with sand and sun. Many airports in UK fly to these places, because they are very famous.

Bruges in Belgium, and Prague in the Czech Republic are some of the most beautiful regions. These cities are popular for their striking architecture; and these places have frequent flights, besides plenty of hotels available all the year round. Prague has a major airport, which is modern and flights from Easyjet, Jet2, British Airways, and BMI Baby land here. There are also many budget to flights to this destination.

Scandinavia is a stunning part of the continent, and is filled with historical places, and many cultural traits; such as Norway, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, and Iceland. You may have to look a little more to get flights to these destinations, however they are available. Easyjet and Finnair operate flights to Denmark, and so does the British Airways. To visit one of these particular destinations, visit the airlines website and look for the location to see if its available.

Flying to Europe is very popular because it is quick, easy and cost effective. With a British passport, UK citizens and easily visit Europe without any hassle or issues with a visa. Looking last minute and with cheap airlines means that there are some really bargains to be had! Don’t forget to look at specific last minute holidays on websites like lastminute.com as they can find you a cheap deal for flights and accommodation saving you hassle and time especially if it is a very short notice break. With all this help there’s no excuse not to explore Europe!

The third largest city in France after Paris and Lyon, Marseille (sometimes spelled Marseilles in the UK) is rapidly becoming one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country. Heathrow and Gatwick Airports in London serve the city with multiple departures every day. The city’s main airport, Marseille Provence Airport, is the fourth most trafficked airport in the whole of France. Business travelers and tourists alike crowd its terminals. Once travelers disembark at the airport, they enjoy excellent local public transportation.

It is located on the south east coast of France on the Mediterranean Sea and is the largest commercial port in the country. The old port area that was popular prior to the’70s oil crisis has been redeveloped with an investment from the European Union.

The old port area is now home to restaurants, bars, cafes, hotels and other businesses and is primarily used as a private marina. The new port area is north of the old port area, and 100 million tons of freight passes through this port each year. The majority of the freight is petroleum. It is a major center for trade and industry with excellent transportation infrastructure, including its port, airport and roads. It is one of the main entry points into France, making it popular with immigrants, especially those from Italy, Spain and Greece.

With its location on the Mediterranean Sea, Marseille has mild winters and hot summers. The coldest months of the year are January and February, with July and August being the area?s hottest months. Harsh, cold winds blow into the city from the Alps in the winter and spring.

The city also boasts Marseille Provence Metropolis, the second largest research center in France. The research center employs thousands of scientists.

In addition to industry, plenty of shops, restaurants, bars, cafes, museums and theaters can be found in the city. Culture lovers are especially enamored of Marseille due to the large number of theaters in the city, including la Cri?e, le Gymnase and the theatre Toursky. The Marseille Opera is also very popular, with a season from September to June.

Like other areas of France, Marseille is well-known for its incredible food. Local favorites include pastis, which is an alcoholic beverage similar to beer made with aniseed and spice. Other popular items are aioli (mayonnaise) served on fish or hardboiled eggs, tapenade, bouillabaisse, panisse, and navette. All dishes are made with local ingredients, which make them very flavorful. Many restaurants can be found in the city?s Old Port area, which is the site of a daily fish market. The Old Port area is very beautiful at night, making it a popular spot for a long evening meal.

Beautiful architecture can also be found in the city, including the Abbey of Saint Victor, one of the oldest places of Christian worship in France, the Museum of Old Marseille and the Phare de Sainte Marie, a lighthouse on the inlet to the Old Port.

With everything that Marseille offers UK tourists, it is easy to see why it is growing in popularity as a vacation destination every year.
