What to do in Belize

If you ever do research on Belize City, you will find that a lot of people call it the most dangerous city in Central America. Tourists tend to avoid it like the plague and if they must stop in there they quickly book at trip out to the Cayes.

Whatever your vision of Central America is, check it at the door before entering this beautiful and welcoming country. Many travel guides will tell you to “get out of Belize City and head for the islands.” It is too bad really, because they are causing people to miss out on meeting the very proud and helpful citizens of this vibrant town.

Belize is steadily growing as a popular stop for Cruise liners. The terminal is one of the nicest buildings in the city filled with shops and eateries. Passengers rarely leave here unless they are running off on a tour to see the sites. It is too bad for Cruisers, they never really see the real Caribbean cities that they visit. Each Terminal looks and feels like the last and yet to walk around the downtown area, you will find a unique energy and vibe.

Settled by the English in the late 16th century, Belize City is a mix Colonial buildings and Creole Culture. Eat international cuisine, or enjoy the local fare at Jembel’s Jerk Pit or Big Daddy’s Diner. Music pumps from inside shops as smiling people great you speaking perfect English, only to turn to their companion and talk in rhythmic Creole. The official language of Belize is English, but you will often hear a mix of Spanish, Creole, Mayan and German throughout the land.

Havana Hotels: Ambos Mundos Hotel

The Ambos Mundos is one of the most significant hotels in Havana and besides its intimacy; businessmen can talk, look into their accounts or the future of an enterprise or present a new product, something ever more frequent in Havana in the recent years.

The four-star hotel has 52 rooms (six floors) including 3 are mini-suites. This hotel from the Cuban capital city is managed by Habaguanex Company S.A., responsible for the historic-cultural tourism in the Old Town.

The Del Monte saloon was created in honour to the prominent Cuban cultural promoter Domingo Del Monte. It has an area of 30 sq m. and a variable capacity from 150 to 250 people standing. This saloon is an excellent venue for gatherings, presentations, showrooms, business meetings, wedding celebrations and salsa lessons.

In addition to this indispensable place we can find the Letr?n saloon with 20 sq m and capacity for 12 people at a rectangular table, especial for close in doors business meetings, dinners and private gatherings considering that it can be equipped with the audio-visual means mentioned above.

Another striking feature of this Hotel is its privileged roof terrace where not only can you enjoy the best views of the Old Town area, the entrance of Havana’s Harbour and the impressive architecture surrounding its vicinity including some of the oldest fortresses built by the Spanish Colonization but also the best Mojito cocktails in Havana.
