Simplify Your Air Travel: Know the Rules on Carry On Luggage

by Pat Lowe

These days, airline travel is more complicated than ever. There are new size restrictions, new security requirements, and new rules about what may or may not be allowed in your carry on luggage. Although these rules can often seem like a pain, the restrictions and regulations are in place to protect travelers.

Be Aware of the Rules

This is not always easy and things seem to change from week to week which causes more and more confusion for the traveler. However, turning up at the airport and pleading ignorance is absolutely no excuse and you will no longer get away with it. By far the best way to avoid any bother at the airport as far as your luggage is concerned is to make sure you know and understand the rules before setting off on your journey.

A good way to educate yourself about the latest carry on luggage rules is to go to the website of the particular airport that you will be flying out of. Although all American airports share the same overarching set of rules, some tend to interpret the carry on luggage rules differently.

International rules for your cabin luggage can be even more difficult to sort out. Security is generally much more stringent overseas and you will be subject to the regulations in place at your port of arrival. And when you come back home from a foreign country, you will once again need to be aware of the procedures in place at your airport of departure.

Airport In Orlando

by hispanic

There are a number of ways to get from the Orlando airport to the destination of your choice. The airport is located only three miles from downtown, so you should be there in about 40 minutes. You can take a taxi there for roughly $35 dollars, shuttle for about half that price, or hop on one of the Lynx buses for a mere $1.50. There are also Lynx buses that run to International Drive and Apopka. If you have hotel reservations, then most hotels offer a complimentary shuttle service from the airport to the hotel.

If you are trying to directly to Disney World, then the Disney World Resort offers its guests a private coach directly there. Booking ahead allows you to bypass baggage claim; you can have your bags brought directly to the resort. For those who aren’t staying at the resort, a taxi ride from the airport to Disney World will cost you close to sixty dollars, or you can take a direct shuttle. All the shuttles are charged per person, with a cheaper rate for a round trip ticket. Shuttles are offered to International Drive, Port Canaveral, Lake Buena Vista, Winter Park/Maitland, and Kissimmee and to the Airport Hotels.
